Abstrak / Ringkasan
Higher education in India has been going through continuous reform, and the most recent of these is the move toward a four-year undergraduate structure that combines classroom instruction with hands-on, research-driven learning, so that graduates leave college job-ready regardless of the stream they studied. Colleges have responded by layering additional certificate programmes onto their degree courses, partly in response to developments abroad and to the pace of technological change more generally. One outcome of this shift is the increase in use of ICT Tools in colleges. Artificial-intelligence tools, biometric and online attendance systems, cloud storage of student records, projector-based presentations, MOOC platforms such as Coursera and NPTEL, ERP software, Internet-of-Things applications, and virtual classrooms are a few examples for the concept of ICT. This study examines how ICT adoption has shaped the professional lives of college teachers and gathers their views on what would make these tools easier to use going forward.
