Abstract
Students are individuals in a group of teenagers who are starting to enter the early adulthood stage. Life on campus makes individuals influence consumer behavior patterns, students are encouraged by individuals to make excessive purchases which are called impulse purchases. aims to determine the relationship and influence of self-control on impulsive buying in Bekasi students.
The research used a quantitative correlational design, the research subjects were 90 active students of the Islamic University "45" Bekasi. The data collection method used was interviews and a psychological scale consisting of 2 scales, namely the impulsive buying scale (0.302 - 0.589), and the self-control scale (0.331 - 0.618). Self-control has a reliability value of 0.809 and Impulsive Buying has a reliability value of 0.864. The sampling technique uses Probability Sampling-Cluster Random Sampling, and data analysis tests use descriptive analysis, assumption testing and hypothesis testing.
The research results were based on Pearson correlation analysis calculations, obtained a variable coefficient of -0.673 and a p value = 0.000 <0.05. Correlation shows that self-control and impulse buying are negatively related to the degree of strong relationship. In the results of the simple regression test analysis, the value of F = 72.921 with a value of p = 0.00 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination value shows 0.453, meaning that the percentage of influence of the self-control variable on the impulsive buying variable is 45.3%.
